The Therapist

As a professional musician, it was my desire to go further into my musical interpretation that led me in the first place to Sophro-analysis.  I then trained in Hypnotherapy and combined both techniques to help clients become their Inner True Self.

I have always looked for a way to associate the benefits of music with a therapy that could harmonize the body and mind. After resuming my studies in Psychology at the university of Paris VIII, I sought a more practical technique in which different theoretical currents merge.

As I continued my own path of self development, I was aware of the need to change my subconscious beliefs about myself and my relationships.  I then understood that I needed to take full responsibility for my own emotions and behaviors. This realization led me to a dynamic therapeutic approach aimed at autonomy: the sophro-analysis of the prenatal, birth and childhood memories.

By reaching a higher self-presence, I was finally able to take full control of my own life resulting in improved relationships with others. Sophro-analysis has had a lasting impact on my life, providing  me with new sustainable skills that accompany me every day. I feel a clear sense of before and after.

I am passionate about guiding my clients towards their own enlightenment and witnessing their empowerment. Thanks to my double profession, I have had the opportunity to accompany many different types of artists on their path to fully liberating their expressive potential.

Following my training in Sophro-analysis with the remarkable teacher and therapist Christine Louveau, the founder of the technique, I defended my thesis and received the diploma in Sophro-analysis. I highly recommend her program if you live in Paris: Émergence harmonique

In August 2018 I completed my Hypnotherapy training at the Hypnotherapy Training Institute in Corte Madera (CA). I am certified as a Master Hypnotist and Hypnotherapist  and am a certified member of the ACHE, American Council of Hypnotist Examiners.

My interest in the Inner Child and the infinite potential that results in healing this precious part of us resulted in studies with the Centre of Excellence and a Diploma in Inner Child Healing.

In 2020, I did a specialization training in Medical Hypnotherapy to address Chronic Disease. More info: MINDbasedHealing.

After a training in Biomagnetic Pairs Therapy, I have recently developed a powerful combination of hypnosis and Biomagnetic Therapy to help rebalance the organs and tissues of the body on a deep cellular level.

I have seen clients in my private practice since 2012, first in Paris, France and since 2016 in Los Angeles, California.

MY APPROACH:

Hypnotherapy is a safe and non-invasive process. The services that I provide include mind-body healing, motivational coaching and education. I do not represent any of my services as any form of health care,or psychotherapy. Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for psychological or medical care. If you have an ongoing physical or mental health problem, please consult a licensed professional. I use hypnotherapy to motivate my clients to eliminate negative beliefs and habits, facilitate the learning process, improve memory and concentration, develop self-confidence, eliminate stage fright, improve athletic ability, reduce/manage stress, focus on positive thoughts and desired outcomes, and for other social, educational and cultural endeavors. In general, I help people cope with the normal problems of everyday living by utilizing various techniques of hypnosis and progressive relaxation. Although most hypnotherapy is of a non-medical nature, it has been scientifically proven to reduce stress, which is a beneficial adjunct for many medical and mental health disorders. Relaxation self-care techniques can be learned which can reduce discomfort and improve certain health issues.

BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS:

I may give you “homework” in the form of journaling, thoughts tracking, self-hypnosis or simply practicing with your recorded hypnotic session.

The key to a lasting change is commitment, repetition and motivation. Hypnotherapy involves inner work, which means you need to be willing to participate actively, and practice in between the sessions to attain your goals.

REQUIRED NOTICE

The undersigned Client acknowledges that they have been informed of the following information:

Virginie d’Avezac-Hypnotherapist agrees to provide professional services in accordance with acquired training and experience giving undivided attention during scheduled consultations to facilitate Client’s benefits.

Hypnotherapy work is Client-centered. Therapeutic process utilizes induction of hypnosis, and methods and principles used to help clients discover their inner creative abilities to develop positive thinking and feeling and to transform undesirable habits and behavior patterns. Therapeutic goals are to achieve freedom from restrictive thought and belief systems, to assist in solving personal problems, developing motivation and achieving goals. The Client may be

taught the use of self-hypnotic techniques to assist in achieving goals and resolving issues that have been mutually agreed upon by Client and Hypnotherapist.

Hypnosis is not a state of sleep, but is a natural state of mind that can produce extraordinary levels of relaxation of mind, body and emotions. The principles and theories upon which hypnotherapy is based are accessing and utilizing the power of one’s inner resources. Hypnosis can transcend the critical, analytical level of the mind, and facilitate the acceptance of suggestions, directions and instructions from the inner mind.

The Hypnotherapist utilizes interviews, discussion and hypnotic methods dealing with underlying issues whenever appropriate, with the goal of achieving ef ective and lasting results.

Services to be provided do not include the practice of medicine, as Hypnotherapist is not a licensed physician. These services are non-diagnostic, and are complementary to the healing arts services that are licensed by the state. Both the Virginia and California State Legislature have determined that state licensing may not be conferred upon an occupational group for purposes of status or prestige. The primary purpose of licensing laws for legally defined Healing Arts and Mental Health Professionals is to protect public health and safety. Accordingly, Hypnotherapists are not issued licenses by any state governmental agency to engage in their professional services.

I, Virginie d’Avezac, have acquired the following education, training, experience, and qualifications to perform the services offered to my clients.

Virginie d’Avezac is a certified member of The American Council of Hypnotist Examiners. She practices in accordance with its Code of Ethics and Standards. She studied and received her Certification at the Hypnotherapy Training Institute in 2018.

About the ACHE, American Council of Hypnotist Examiners

In 1973, the Hypnotist Examining Council was created as a non-profit professional organization engaging in self-regulation of all who utilized hypnosis/hypnotherapy as an integral part of a professional practice. The primary focus was on formal and appropriate education and training followed by a written exam and a practical demonstration of hypnosis skills before a Designated Examiner. A code of ethics and principles of practice were formulated and adopted.

Shortly afterward, Gil Boyne was elected President of the organization and, in 1980, he founded the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, a national organization that now has certified more than nine thousand hypnotherapists worldwide, including numerous physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists and representatives of the healing arts, counseling and allied professions.

The A.C.H.E. is the primary organization that has been responsible for the recognition and regulation of hypnotherapy training in the USA. This organization is a state-chartered, non-profit professional corporation that has established standards for specialized education and maintains standards of practice and a code of ethics.

In addition, the A.C.H.E. provides examinations for hypnotherapists who have met the qualifications for specialized education, training, and experience. Successful completion of the written and practical demonstration examination before a Designated Examiner and signing the A.C.H.E. Code of Ethics leads to certification.

For examination and certification by A.C.H.E., a Hypnotherapist must be trained in a school approved by the A.C.H.E. The A.C.H.E. only approves schools that have programs of at least 200 hours of training in hypnotherapy that is almost entirely in the classroom.

The A.C.H.E. has developed a membership in over 40 countries throughout the world. Graduates of approved schools are eligible to receive certification and, if they provide hypnotherapy services to the general public, are considered to be professional hypnotherapists. Also, our membership includes many professionals in the health and counseling fields who have integrated hypnotherapy into their practices after receiving training at A.C.H.E.-approved schools.
